Curtis James Forbes, age 43, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Renae Black Forbes, children, Faith Danyelle, Caleb Justyn, Mekayla Joy and Joshua Alexander Forbes, all of the home. A native of Chesterville, MA, he is the son of Nellie M. Riordan of Gastonia and stepfather Michael Riordan and his wife, Megan of Newton, MA. He will be greatly missed by his brother, Darrell and Melissa Forbes of Kingston, NH, sisters, Tammy and Ralph Parsons of Farmington, ME, Angelia and Scott Davis of Gastonia, Hope Riordan of Newton, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of The Furnace Church and founder of Proton Ministries. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and a minister to many.
A service to celebrate Curtis' life will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors, Gastonia, with Pastor Troy Beaver and Spiritual Father Brett Wade officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Monday evening at the funeral home.Interment will be in Evergreen –"A Quiet Place".
