Olive Evelyn Grant, 92, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at Abingdon Place of Gastonia. Born in Bela, PA, she was the daughter of the late Budd L. Best and Maude Ashbaugh Best. Mrs. Grant was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God where she was active with the Senior Citizens Group.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. William A. Grant.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Chester and Jean Grant of Chester, VA, Harry and Madeline Grant of Lynchburg, VA, Walter and Phyllis Grant of Gastonia, and Larry Grant of Lynchburg, VA; sisters, Maxine Barr and Geraldine Bowser, both of Rimersburg, PA; brother, J. Budd Best of Triangle, VA; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at First Assembly of God with Rev. David L. Scruggs, Sr., Rev. Lamar Creel and Rev. Scott Lingerfelt officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen â€" A Quiet Place. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.
