GASTONIA: Mrs. Phyllis Witherspoon Warren, 63, of 2416 Regal Drive, Gastonia, died April 7th, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. A native of Dallas, she was the daughter of Wilburn & Emma Ruth Caskey Witherspoon. She attended Lenoir Rhyne College, and was a lifelong member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Dallas. Retired from R.J. Reynolds Company as a sales representative, she was also the previous owner and operator of Pineapples and Primitives of Gastonia in the early 1980's and had been serving as a visitation hostess for McLean Funeral Directors for the last ten years. She was a member and former president of the Junior Woman's Club in Gastonia. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Survivors, including her parents, are her husband of 43 years, James C. Warren, Jr. of Gastonia; two sons and daughters-in-law, John A. & Jill S. Warren and David W. & Ashley L. Warren, all of Gastonia, and two grandchildren, John Andrew Warren, II and Lilly Warren of Gastonia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by Rev. John H. Stanley at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors, Gastonia. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to the charity of donor's choice.
